NAYVO

Nayvo — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-07-18

Nayvo is a daily opinion app. This policy explains, plainly, what happens to your information. The short version: no accounts, no tracking, no selling or sharing of data — ever. The only personal data Nayvo ever holds is what you choose to give it: an optional circle display name, and an optional launch-notification email. Both are described below.

What we collect

Nayvo has no user accounts, no login, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We never ask for your real name, contacts, or location. The default app sends nothing at all; the live-votes app sends only your anonymous vote, a bare streak number, and — if you opt into a circle — your daily pick under that circle's code (details below).

What is stored on your device

To make the app work — remember today's answer, your streak, and vote counts — Nayvo saves a small amount of data in your browser/device local storage (keys beginning split. — a prefix kept from the app's earlier working name). This data:

Sharing

If you use the "Share your side" button, Nayvo hands a short line of text (the question and which side you took) to your device's own share sheet or clipboard. You choose whether and where to send it; Nayvo does not send it anywhere on its own. The shareable card never reveals the result percentages.

Network requests

The app is served as static files and, at runtime, makes no requests to any third-party server. Fonts are bundled and served from the app's own origin, not from Google Fonts or any other third party.

Live-votes builds

The default build computes the daily split locally and sends nothing. A build configured with a live-votes backend (an optional deployment mode) sends only your anonymous yes/no answer to the tally server that computes the global split, and a bare streak length (a single number, used to compute the anonymous "longer than N% of the world" percentile) — no account, no other data. Your record still stays on your device. If you are reading this in an app that shows a live global vote count, that build is in use.

So that a vote is counted once even if the page is refreshed or re-submitted, each vote also carries a random token your device made up (it contains nothing about you or your device). The server keeps that token for at most 48 hours as a bare "already counted today" marker — it is never stored with the side you chose, never used across days, and never linked to circles or anything else.

Like any web service, the hosting provider that serves these requests briefly processes IP addresses in routine server logs in order to deliver responses and prevent abuse. Nayvo does not use those logs, does not link them to votes, and keeps no copy of its own; they age out on the host's standard schedule.

Circles (optional)

A circle is a 6-character code you share with friends. If you join one, your anonymous daily answer is also stored under that code so the group can see how it split. If you additionally choose a display name for your circle, that name and your daily pick are stored together and shown to anyone who has the circle's code — that is the feature. The name is one you type (it need not be your real name), you can change it, and choosing none keeps you counted but never named. Circle data expires from the server automatically after 90 days. The code is the only key, so share it only with people you want in your circle; you can leave a circle at any time from the FRIENDS tab.

Launch notifications (optional)

The nayvo.app landing page has an optional "email me when it's on iPhone" form. If you choose to submit your address, we store the address — nothing else — solely to send that one launch announcement. It is never shared or sold, and the list is deleted once the announcement has gone out. To be removed sooner, email nayvoapp@gmail.com.

Children

Nayvo is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

The personal data Nayvo can hold is limited to what you optionally provide: a circle display name (expires from the server within 90 days; replaced whenever you change it) and a launch-notification email (deleted after the one announcement; removable sooner on request). Email nayvoapp@gmail.com to have either removed. Votes are anonymous counts and cannot be traced back to you, so there is no vote history for us to access, correct, or delete. On-device data is always yours to clear via the app's reset or your device settings. We sell nothing.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated.
